Neris SMART-2 Assembly
The assembly process is very easy, straightforward and quick. From start to finish is about 7-10 minutes
All SMART kayaks comes in a single backpack type bag. An optional second bag for the long frame pieces and paddles can help spread the carrying weight. All the SMART models with the exception of the PRO have identical cross ribs which can be placed in any position on the frame. The rest of the frame pieces are clearly marked with identification labels.
During the assembly process, after fitting all the cross ribs and just before you inflate the sponsons, you will clearly see what the boat looks like should there be an air leak in both air chambers whilst out on the water. The cross ribs holds the sides up completely, unlike on traditional inflatable kayaks which will simply collapse with water ingress. A great safety feature!
On this particular boat, flaps for the canoe type bench
seats was not fitted - this feature is optional extra, which is added on request. Same applies with fittings for the Genaker downwind sail rig. Last set of photos shows thigh straps.
All Smarts follow the same assembly routine / sequence. The SMART PRO has an extra reinforcing "washboard" upper frame which is only needed for rough sea usage. Fitting this only takes an extra 1-2 minutes.
