08/05/20 - Dry / Duffle bag Package Deals New 3 & 5 bag Package Deal sets introduced. Selected 3 waterproof bags for the "Standard" sets for casual weekend users, and 5 waterproof bags for the "Expedition" sets for multi-day expeditions maximising all the internal space in the kayak. See here 04/05/20 - Optional extra Loading hatches for Neris Valkure-2 New for Neris Valkure-2 kayaks. Large loading hatches, on the front and rear decks are now available as an optional extra feature when ordering this model kayak. You can either have on both front and rear decks or just for the rear deck. These hatches have double flaps to increase waterproofness. Top flap is secured down with wide Velcro, whilst the bottom underlying flap has a single zipper. 23/02/20 - LIGHT variant model kayaks New for 2020. Introduction of a lighter variant model made with lighter materials (EG TPU and lighter grade PVC) in the kayak skin and in some accessories. Very useful for those who value total packed weight over "excess" toughness - ideal for backpacking overland or for air travel with paddling on open deep water other than shallow rapids etc. Where possible, a lighter frame can also be specially made in exceptional cases for expeditions in very remote locations. Initially the first LIGHT variant models will made on special request, before becoming available as ready stock later in the year 27/12/19 - NERIS SMART PRO XS single seater The SMART family will soon expand with the addition of a even shorter brother to the SMART PRO Series - a shorter single seater SMART PRO XS. 10% shorter and narrower compared to the SMART PRO S. The PRO S is 4.85 x 0.81m and the PRO XS is 4.3 x 0.76m. Due out late April 2020 05/12/18 - NERIS SMART PRO S single seater The SMART family has expanded with the addition of a smaller brother to the fast double seater SMART PRO - a single seater SMART PRO S. 10% shorter and narrower whilst retaining the same internal dimensions. This was achieved by using smaller diameter main sponsons inflation tubes. The PRO S is 4.85 x 0.81m and the PRO is 5.35 x 0.88m. 18/10/18 - NERIS Valkure-1 model now discontinued With the rapid expanding growth and popularity of the SMART Series, the factory have had to take the decision to close the production line producing the Valkure-1 kayak. This model kayak will still be supported in the future in respect of spares, replacement skins and accessories. 30/09/18 - Sponsorship of Sarah Davis' "Paddle The Nile" British born Australian Sarah Davis, will be attempting a Source-to-Sea trip along the While Nile. Starting in Rwanda and traveling on rafts for the white water sections, then switching to a NERIS sponsored Valkure-1 single seater folding kayak for the rest of the way to the Mediterranean coast, some 6853km away. Starting mid October 2018, Sarah hopes to finish in May 2019. 21/03/18 - Royal Marines Canoe Club's recreation of the famous WW II commando raid Last December 2018, members and ex-serving members of the Royal Marines and Royal Navy did 'Op Frankton 75', an recreation of the famous Cockleshell Heroes WWII raid in France. Eight NERIS Valkure-2 folding kayaks was used by the group to cover the actual 1st stage river route, followed by a 2nd stage overland run, spread over 9 days. The author of this incredible film, Keith Breslauer, has this to say:- "Operation Frankton - Back in December, I set out with a team of around 34 participants from the Royal Marines and Royal Navy, including injured war veterans from the Hasler Naval Service Recovery Centre, as the only civilian on an 85-mile paddle and a 100-mile yomp (slow run) to commemorate Operation Frankton (“Cockleshell Heroes”) on its 75th anniversary.... This unique hybrid range of foldable kayaks / canoes builds on the standard SMART range with more refinements to the original design - smaller diameter air chambers, asymmetric longitudinal hull, and longer bow and stern deck covers. The result is a sleeker fast boat that will handle the off-shore waves and fast flowing inland waters better. 10/08/17 - New kayak family introduced - Neris SMART range A unique hybrid range of foldable boats - a cross between folding kayaks and inflatable kayaks. The boat hull is the same as in folding kayaks, with the side walls the same as in inflatable kayaks! Use as a kayak with normal floor seats and double bladed paddles, or as a canoe with raised bench seats using single bladed paddles. The frame comprises of only a central keelson and cross ribs which means a quick assembly time of 7 minutes and a rigid hull. The boat tracks well, thanks to the sharp chines in the hull. The inflatable elements provides buoyancy and the boat will still float should there be an air leak as the cross ribs will holds the sides up, enough to assist with the recovery back to shore. The SMART-2 is also can be used as a single seater. The first batch of SMART's will be the kayak version only, with the kayak/canoe version being available from October onwards. SMART-2 & 3 will have fittings included as standard to accommodate using a "A" frame Genaker sail rig .

See details here 09/02/17 - New hybrid kayak / canoe coming soon - NERIS Smart A exciting new kayak which is a cross between a folding kayak and an inflatable kayak is coming out before the summer. Imagine a folding kayak with just the side walls idea borrowed from inflatable kayaks. With an aluminum keel and cross ribs. Assembles completely in 10 minutes. With bench like seats (not shown below), the boat can be used either as a kayak or as a canoe.
